As a site, Geita mine has put in place all necessary precautions to keep its employees and community safe, focusing on required infrastructure such as hand washing facilities in all entry points and providing sanitisers.

All the efforts put in place to fight the pandemic have enabled the employees to survive the first and second wave with little health effects and uninterrupted production. Onsite, the Covid-19 isolation and treatment centre remains functional and operational.
